We have had a number of questions on how to use the instructor notes feature in PowerPoint. Here is a link to a short video
All course materials will be revised annually to ensure inclusion of current research and corrections will be made more frequently if necessary.
Access to WASBA Course Materials
Instructors:
Instructors who meet the requirements established to teach WASBA courses may request a thumb drive containing the instructional materials for the three certification level’s materials (Beginning, Apprentice, Journeyman) from info@wasba.org or online here. The materials include a copy of the course manual, the PowerPoint slides with presenter notes which accompany each manual, and the test questions from which the instructor can select the questions (including the answers) they wish to use with their students. This thumb drive is meant for the identified instructor(s) of a WASBA affiliated club or organization. It is not to be distributed to anyone else either by print or electronically. Doing so violates copyright law.
Students:
Every student who takes a WASBA course is entitled to a copy of the manual and WASBA will receive payment for the cost of the manual. This includes all students who have access to the manual even if they do not wish a certificate for successful completion of the course. Payment for access to the manual is the responsibility of the club or entity offering the course. Distributing the manual to students electronically does not negate the payment for access to the manual and should only be done in time sensitive situations and after payment has been made to WASBA. Failure to comply with this procedure is a violation of copyright law.
Additional Clarification
The price WASBA charges for each course covers the cost of printing the manual, postage and handling for processing the manual order and for the certificate and patch if included (Apprentice and Journeyman). Included in the price is annual membership to WASBA. None of these items can be separated from the cost of the manual. It is a package – all or nothing.
- If a student doesn’t wish to take the test and earn a certificate, the price for the manual is still the same.
- If the manual is picked up at a location and no postage is spent, the price for the manual is still the same.
- If the manual is sent electronically due to circumstances involving accessing the manual, the price for access to the manual is still the same.
The fact that WASBA is donating an annual membership to the student to welcome the student to WASBA is the choice of WASBA and does not mean that the annual membership cost should be deducted from the cost of the manual. In fact, the membership cost has NOT been added to the cost of
the manual. WASBA absorbs the cost.
Beginning Beekeeper Course
Includes a written manual, test questions/answers from which instructors may select to create an exam, and PowerPoint presentations for each of the chapters in the manual. The PowerPoint presentation is provided to each club as a guideline as we understand that, due to differences across our state, some modifications need to be made based on location and circumstances. Instructors can easily make these changes to the presentation by editing the Notes area on each slide.
Apprentice Beekeeper Course
Recently revised and all materials including a written manual, test questions/answers from which instructors may select to create an exam, and PowerPoint presentations with Notes that can be edited by the instructor for each of the chapters in the manual are now available.
Journeyman Beekeeper Course
Includes the manual, test questions/answers from which instructors may select to create an exam, Power Point presentations with Notes that can be edited by the instructor for each of the chapters in the manual, and suggested homework topics.
