About WASBA
Washington State Beekeepers Association (WASBA) promotes beekeeping around the state – networking with local beekeeping clubs and other bee-related organizations, producing educational curriculum for beginning and experienced beekeepers through a statewide certification program, supporting legislation that assists beekeepers as well as partnering with programs like 4H, Healing Through Hives (HTH) and the Department of Corrections in both Washington and Oregon.
In 2019 WASBA re-started its annual conference, drawing over 300 people to Eastern Washington on a cold, snowy February. In 2020 we quickly adapted to the COVID-19 restrictions and hosted a virtual conference with over 200 attendees from the US and Canada! The 2021 conference was rescheduled and on October 1-2, 2022 WASBA hosted a successful “JamborBEE” Conference with in-person and virtual attendees at the WSU Honey Bee & Pollinator Research facility in Othello, Washington!
Washington State has one of the nation’s most favorable beekeeping laws which came about due to WASBA and its member’s advocacy. This law provides zero liability to beekeepers provided they are registered with the state, follow their area’s local laws, as well as local beekeeping best practices.
