Lifetime Achievement Award 2026 Nomination: Alan Woods
Alan Woods has been a member of WASBA for over five years serving as an instructor at Joint Base Lewis/McChord and then stepping forward to be the President the past four years. During that time, he has initiated a wide variety of programs from the Pollinator Fun Fest to introduce the importance of pollinators to the public, to activating a long desired fundraising initiative. Under his leadership the Washington State License Plate Program was completed and WASBA has just begun receiving funds from this program.
He has personally supported the WASBA education program by continuing to offer classes from Beginning to Journeyman remotely through Woods Bee Company with hands on workshops available on Saturdays at his apiary. Under his leadership, WASBA developed a Master program by working with WSU to offer an online course for advanced beekeepers supported by practical experience.
He has visited many of clubs on the west side of the state personally, spreading the word about the value that WASBA offers to beekeepers in the state
Besides his time, he has donated significant resources to WASBA programs including GRuB, the Pacific Northwest Beekeeping Conference, and the Pollinator Fun Fest. Under his leadership WASBA is beginning to be recognized as the organization representing beekeeping interests in the State.
For his ongoing hours of volunteer work in support of WASBA and his positive energy even through multiple surgeries, we recognize Alan Woods for his years of service by nominating him for the WASBA Lifetime Achievement Award 2026. Without Alan’s vision and dedication, WASBA would not be positioned where it is. We sincerely appreciate his commitment to the organization and hope to continue working with him in the future.
